History

Waist Beads stem from various areas of the Diaspora, ranging from Ghana’s beautiful ceremonies, Nigeria's Yoruba tribe to the Egyptians as depicted in Ancient art. African women have traditionally worn these beads as a symbol of femininity and prosperity for centuries. The history of waist beads can be traced back as early as the 15th century.
